To be a witness does not consist in engaging in propaganda, nor even in stirring people up, but in being a living mystery. It means to live in such a way that one’s life would not make sense if God did not exist.
--Emmanual Cardinal Suhard
This quote came in some of my reading over the sabbatical, and strikes me as a worthy goal for our missionary life here—to live so that our lives only make sense in light of the reality of God. Amen.

Wow the pictures of Zanzibar are so beautiful! It sounds like you all had such a wonderful time...I am thankful to God that you were all able to take a break and a much needed rest... Although I am a bit jealous:) The weeks that my family spent at Maweni cottages in Mombasa are some of the best memories I have! Just being as a family together on a secluded beach was awesome.
Sad to hear about Mukidde's death, please tell his family I am praying for them and thinking of them, if you get the chance.
Live as if your life doesn't make sense apart from God--isn't that what we're all called to do? Live crazy, abandoned lives to Christ Jesus...The Lord has His hand on your witness. Indeed, I have ongoing conversations trying to explain your lives to my mother, who simply doesn't get it; your lives don't make sense to her. However, your lives make perfect sense to me and constantly challenge me to make my life nonsensical apart from the Lord's powerful existence. I continue in my prayers for you and your precious community in Bundibugyo. Keep on with your witness!
