Dr. Jonah Kule...killed by Ebola

Dr. Jonah Kule died this evening, Tuesday 4 December, at Mulago Hospital.

We have lost one of our best friends.

To say nothing of the devastating impact on his family, on the district, on the country.

Ebola is horrific. There are no words to express our grief. And this makes the whole epidemic even more frightening, if that were possible.

Pray fiercely for an end to this, soon.

I can only hear the hymn:
Oh, God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come--
Be thou our guide while life shall last,
And our eternal home!

It is more than our minds can handle. We are praying that you will have the strength of his love, and the hope that he has a purpose, even though we will not possibly understand it while we are here on earth. Bless you for being there, for being faithful, for your many sacrifices.

We pray for his hand of protection on you both, and on all the children.

Not sure why the Almighty needs a good doctor more than you folks do.

But he evidently does need a doctor pretty badly.

Our thoughts here in the United States are with you all. Be careful, and good luck!

My heart is breaking for this loss. There is no need to say how good this man was, it was evident to all. Trusting in the mercy and faithfulness of the Lord is all we can do at this point.

We love you so very much and are praying for you constantly. May the Lord lift you up and give you strength to get through each day.

Condolences! We are grieving with you and praying for you.

If there is someone (doctors, nurses, people with money, people with other possibilities to help materially) reading this blog who would like to take part of your work either by hand or by other ways materially, but doesn't know how, please could you inform us about the possible ways?

Dear Jennifer and Scott, I am grieving with you and with Dr. Jonah's family and friends over this truly tragic loss. I hope that there will be a memorial fund in his honor and for his family, or for your mission if his family will be all right financially without him. My heart aches will you all, and I am praying that God will find a way to comfort all those who mourn the good doctor. May you two feel God's comfort and strength so that you can stay well through all this terrible sadness and suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Judy in HMB

Dear Scott and Jennifer,
We are praying for you and your family, for your safety, for the work that you do, for your team members and for the people you serve. The safest place we can be is in God's will and you are certainly there, and we thank God for that. Dr. Jonah's death is tragic. We are holding his memory and his family up in prayer. Please publish if there is a memorial fund established to aid his family. God Bless you
